The Shawshank Redemption was a great movie. It kept me on the edge of my seat, never really knowing what would happen next. This movie caused me to be overwhelmed with many different emotions. At one point I was sad, the other angry. However I would have to say that in this movie the vision of prison was a little sugar coated. Prison is not as enjoyable as Shawshank makes it seem, at least not from what I've heard. I would have to say my favorite part of the movie is when Red writes right next to "Brooks was here" "so was red". It shot a sentimental moment, which was no stranger to this movie. This movie has survived the test of time, which in my opinion makes a classic. This movie has definitely made it up to one of my favorites.

Casablanca is a a regular old love story, much like many you see today. However what can't be forgotten is that Casablanca came before all of the new time love stories, I guess you could say it set the bar, and pretty high at that. Casablanca is a classic, making it possible for someone to have known of the scenes or a few quotes before even seeing it for the first. To be honest there isnt much I can say that hasnt already been said.

On The Waterfront was a fantastic movie. Marlon Brando shows that even during that time not everyone acted as if they were on stage. He was a subtle actor leaving a huge impact on the cinematic world. I must admit, upon hearing that we would be watching the movie, I was not excited I was set in my "not gonna like it" ways, sure that I would never truly adore a black and white movie. WELCOME TO COLOR!!However I will say, I loved the movie. I was completely wrong to believe black and white meant boring, or lame. I absolutely adored it, not to mention Marlon Brando was absolutely gorgeous.

The Graduate was probably my favorite movie so far. It was good to see a funny movie after seeing the dramatic side to cinema. I love how spontaneous everything was in the end. It was a movie that many could relate to, we have all been in a situation where we felt small or insignifican compared to the bigger picture. I know I have, and I am also petrified to grow up, it is probably my worst fear. In class the question as to why she went with him came up, and my answer to that, which is simply opinion, is that she did in fact love him and everyone loves when things go a bit hay wire(im not so sure i spelled that correctly). I do however feel that it would be terribly awkward knowing that the man you are with has had sexual relations with your very own mother. All in all, I really did enjoy this movie.

Chinatown was a pretty spiffy film. It was certainly one of those films you have to pay attention to very closely, or trust me, you'll get lost. Every person, every thing, they all tie in to the conclusion, they all tie into the mystery. Its kind of funny, no matter what movie you put Jack Nicholson in he will always have this kind of sadistic style to his acting. I enjoy the fact that this movie took the viewer on a twisting turning roller coaster ride right up to the very end. I'm sorry but who really saw the insest bit coming on? I certainly didnt. All in all I really enjoyed this movie, it's certainly something I would watch again.

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest was a fantastic movie. I have seen it plenty of times, and every time I watch it, I find something new. This movie is a classic. I do however find it quite arrogant that the author of the actual novel refuses to watch the movie, meanwhile the message remains the same. The end gets me every time. I find myself asking whether i would be able to do what Chief did, and my answer always remains the same. Yes. Nicholson's character could not be broken by the institution, at which point the insitution took it from him. It gets me to thinking to about the institutions i thrive on every day. As children going into adulthood, we are taught what to think, how to think, when to think. All in all I found this movie pretty deep. An amazing movie.
